Creating a Compelling Homepage for Your WordPress Website

Designing the homepage of your WordPress website is the first step in creating a strong online presence. As your website is typically the first thing visitors will see, make a good impression. Create a page first:

The first step in setting up a set homepage wordpress for your website is creating a new page. Go into your WordPress dashboard and choose “Pages” from the menu on the left to do this.
So in this tutorial, we’ll just refer to it as the “Homepage.” Whatever name you like can be used for this page.

Step 2: Configuring the Page Template

Now that you have a new page, you must set the page template to “Homepage”. From the “Template” dropdown menu, select “Homepage”.

If your WordPress theme doesn’t already have a homepage template, you can generate one using a page builder plugin or by hiring a developer.

Step 3: Add content

You can start adding content to the page after choosing “Homepage” as the page template. You can use this space to showcase your creativity and market your business or brand.

It could be a good idea to consider including the following things on your homepage:

An image or video that serves as your brand’s hero

Make the home page your default home page in step four.

Now that you’ve completed making and designing your website, it’s time to name your homepage the home page of your website. Choose “Reading” from the “Settings” option on the screen’s left side to accomplish this.

From the list of choices under “Your homepage shows,” select “A static page.” After that, select the freshly created page from the “Homepage” dropdown menu.
